ThiActive B-Complex provides a full spectrum of nutritional B vitamins to complement the action of thiamine (vitamin B1) within the cell, including two different forms of thiamine with high bioavailability.
Benfotiamine is an S-acyl derivative of thiamine known for its ability to improve blood sugar management and support peripheral nerve function. Thiamine Tetrahydrofurfuryl Disulfide (TTFD) contains one thiamine molecule bound with a sulfur-mercaptan group, which provides it with unique properties. The molecular structure of these two thiamine derivatives allows them to pass through intestinal and cellular membranes without the requirement for a transport system. Once inside the cell, they deliver thiamine which can be activated and used as a cofactor in important biochemical processes.
To support the process of methylation, this complex includes active folate in the form of L-methyl folate, along with non-methylated folate in the form of folinic acid (calcium folinate). Similarly, two types of active vitamin B12 are provided in the forms of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin.
This formula also contains the activated form of vitamin B2 (riboflavin-5-phosphate) and vitamin B6 (pyrixodal-5-phosphate). As an additional ingredient, D-ribose is included as a sugar precursor to promote cellular ATP production. This product was designed for people who feel that they benefit from methylated vitamins in their active form.
Usage
How to use
Start with one capsule per day in the morning with or without food. This can be increased to 2 capsules per day to reach a maximum dose.
Avoid coffee/tea consumption either one hour before or two hours after.
Avoid taking this product in the afternoon/evening, as it may interfere with sleep.
For those who consider themselves sensitive to methylated B vitamins, consider using our non-methylated B complex Thiavite.
Important information:
In some individuals, supplementation with products containing thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide (TTFD) can induce a temporary worsening of certain symptoms such as fatigue, brain-fog, and digestive bloating or gas. This usually lasts for around one week, and is referred to as the “paradoxical reaction”.
For those with sensitivity to sulfur-containing compounds, this product may not be suitable.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many capsules shall I take to begin with?
It is recommended to start with one capsule per day. Increase gradually to 2 capsules per day over the space of one to two weeks. If one capsule is best tolerated, then remain at 1 capsule per day.

Can I take it with food?
This is best taken with food but can also be taken away from food depending on individual preference.
What are the side effects?
Initially some people can experience a “paradoxical reaction” with thiamine supplementation. This might include a temporary period of increased fatigue, brain-fog, and poor concentration. This reaction usually subsides within a few weeks. If symptoms remain, discontinue this supplement.
What is the maximum dose?
2 capsules per day
Are there any other supplements which should be taken with ThiActive B?
This B complex is designed to complement Thiamax, our supplement containing a bioavailable form of thiamine known as TTFD. Furthermore, magnesium and other mineral cofactors are advised when supplementing with thiamine, each of which is included in our mineral formula ThiAssist.

I have compound heterozygous MTHFR gene mutation, and I'm deeply grateful for this extremely well-formulated product. Interestingly enough, the first thing I noticed when I started taking this was a noticeable and significant decrease in my histamine-related symptoms.

Improved my cognitive function greatly, I am able to remember things faster. No longer have to keep double checking whether I have correctly input data into the system.

I really wanted this to be an answer for me. I was primarily interested in the TTFD form of B1 and wanted to try it in a balance with the other B vitamins. I was happy that this formula had no inferior ingredients! I was taking 1 or 2 per day in the morning and afternoon. I noticed my mind being over active. It transferred to my dreams too. I think it was too much for me. I brought it to my chiropractic kinesiologist and it did not test strong for me. I stopped taking it and my mind settled down. I will bring it back to my chiropractor next month and try again after not being on it for a month. If it doesn’t test strong I may try TTFD on it’s own.
